The Rob Roy Way is one of Scotland’s Great Trails. The main route runs for 79 miles (128 km) from Drymen near Glasgow to Pitlochry in the Highlands, and is suited to both walkers and cyclists. Walkers may also opt for a 31-mile scenic extension through Glen Quaich.

The route visits many places linked Scotland’s most famous outlaw. It offers superb scenery, with impressive aqueducts, viaducts, castles, forts and a stone circle.

This fourth edition is based on extensive fieldwork in 2021, and has been fully revised to offer detailed information to cyclists. It covers all route updates and options.

Despite having 16 pages more than the previous edition, it’s lighter and more rainproof than ever, with robust perfect binding. The guidebook is lavishly illustrated with 100 colour photos and 18 pages carrying new detailed route mapping at 1:50,000.

Our fourth edition has extended coverage for cyclists and includes detailed description of the Glen Quaich alternative. The route was totally rewalked for 2022 and further revised in May 2024 for various route changes and alternatives, mainly between Aberfoyle and Callander. It’s in our pocket-friendly format with perfect binding (glued and sewn) and 111 colour photos, and it’s 10 grams lighter than the previous edition.
